Overnight Spiritual Retreat

• The monastery due to the minimal space and in order preserve a conducive environment for spiritual retreat we are strictly limited to 5 females per night for an overnight stay.
• The age requirement for overnight retreats is limited to females aged 17 years and above. They are welcomed to stay at the monastery for one or two nights from Thursday 10:00 am to 5:00pm Saturday or from Thursday 5:00pm to Sunday 5:00pm.
• Specific guidelines for retreats and for staying in the monastery will be outlined upon arrival.
• Once again because of space restrictions, please note that monastery is open only to retreatants and only those on retreat or booked in as Day Guests may attend the services.

Dress Code on Retreat:

Pilgrims and believers visiting places of veneration in honour of our Lord God and Saviour Jesus Christ and those blessed saints that have honoured Him during their lives and death are required to wear appropriate attire representing the reverence and holiness of these places.

Retreants will need to wear a mid-length skirt and covered arms during their retreat. Head scarves are required during all services in the Chapel (Midnight Praises, Synaxis and the Divine Liturgy).

Visitor Information

We welcome all visitors wishing to spend the day at the monastery and partake of the blessing of the daily prayers. All visitors are required to call the monastery to confirm their visit in-advance.

Non-Orthodox Visitors Policy

Non-Orthodox denominations wishing to attend spiritual retreats at the monastery must believe in the Statement of Faith of the Coptic Orthodox Church. The Nicene-Constantinople Creed formulated initially at the Council of Nicaea in 325AD and the additions of the Council of Constantinople in 381AD.

Statement of Faith: The Orthodox Creed

Truly we believe in One God, God the Father, Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth, and all things seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, Begotten of the Father before all ages. Light of Light, True God of True God, begotten not created; Co-essential with the Father; by Whom all things were made; Who for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and of the Virgin Mary, and became Man. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate; suffered and was buried; and on the third day He rose from the dead, according to the Scriptures; and ascended to the heavens; He sits at the right hand of the Father; and He is coming again in His glory to judge the living and the dead; Whose Kingdom shall have no end. Yes, we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who, with the Father and the Son, together is worshipped and glorified; Who spoke by the prophets. And in One, Holy, Universal and Apostolic Church, we confess one baptism for the remission of sins; we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the age to come. Amen.
